Stargate Resistance patch 1.1.4.1 announced
Stargate Resistance team has announced a new patch for the game which should be released today around 11 AM (Mountain Time).
Update: The patch has been released and it's available to be downloaded using the Stargate Resistance client built-in updater. (3 PM)

SGR March DLC Preview!
Boy do we have a treat for you guys today! Previews from the new map in the upcoming free DLC! All we know so far is that this map is an arena-style map, so the gameplay should be faster-paced then the other maps.

SGW and SGR forums temporary offline due to server move
Just a quick note, that the Stargate Worlds / Stargate Resistance forums (stargateworlds. com) are currently offline, because the website and forum are being moved to a new server.
Everything should be back as soon as the server move is completed.

UPDATE (01.04.2010 13:00) 1: Game servers appear to be back online, so you should probably be able to play now (if it does not work for you, please give them some time, be patient and try again later). The Stargate Resistance website also looks like it's back online, but the forum is still offline due to database connection problems (migration is probably still in progress).

#SGW IRC channel closed, reopens under a new channel name
Good morning fans,
The administrator of the ReplayIRC network (ReplayIRC is the network where both SGW and SGR channels are / were located) has asked me to help him spread this news.
Basically the #Stargate-worlds has been closed off and redirected to #Stargate-resistance.
So if you want to chat, visit the "official" Stargate Resistance IRC channel at #Stargate-resistance on the ReplayIRC network.

The dev team has been working pretty hard recently and they have released a new SGR trailer which you can view on YouTube (it's pretty short, but the new stuff looks hot, so don't forget to check it out).

And now for all of you who had problems, didn't have the time or missed the previous free play event; you will have another chance to try and play the game for free this weekend:
Free play begins Friday at midnight (pacific time), April 30th, through Sunday, midnight (pacific time), May 2.

Oh and now something slightly off-topic, but do you know which day is today?
Yes, it's 29.04.2010, the day when the long awaited Ubuntu 10.4 LTS is released!
It does not matter if you already use it or not, but you should at least check it out (CD images should be available on the website later today), because it contains many improvements and cool new features!
P.S. If you decide to migrate to Ubuntu, you will still need to keep a copy of Windows around, because sadly, Stargate Resistance does not work on Ubuntu (I'm pretty sure that the game itself would work fine with Wine, but it looks like that the hack prevention system / anti-cheat is causing the problems).

If you are having problems downloading the latest patch through the client's built-in updater (slow download speed, timeouts, corrupted file, etc.) you can try and use the one of the links bellow:

This files are located on a CDN, so you should get a decent download speeds.

Stargate Resistance Manual
Hello,
Last few days a lot of new players are running around the servers and many of them don't really know what to do.
If you are one of those new players who feels lost, don't worry, because there is an official SGR manual available which explains the game concepts, classes and basics pretty nicely (yes, it's not a boring 200 page long small font text-dense manual and it even contains some pictures! :P).
So, download the manual, check it out and hopefully you will soon realize why your scientist character can't kill or hurt an opponent with a "little blue thingy" :)
There are also some articles about the game available on our and other clan websites, so if you are interested, you can check those as well.

Just a quick notice that a Stargate Resistance forum member zainea13 made a few short video tutorials which explain the game basics.
