Poll #2 results and the clan pages idea

Second poll is now over.

Judging by the results, the most desired new feature are "Assist Points" (45%) and "Option to switch faction in game" (25%) which is no unexpected, because both of these features are almost essential to any kind of online shooter.

In the new poll, we are asking you what do you think about the clan pages idea - a new feature which will be implemented if there is enough interest.

Here is a brief description what would the clan pages include...

CME and FireSky Update

For those of you who do not read the official SGR/SGW forums, or simply avoid topics such as these due to negative replies and bad attitudes, here's a summary of what's going on with CME and FireSky regarding their (semi-)recent claims of bankruptcy.

Don't worry, it's not nearly as bad as it sounds.

Map statistics and per class experience points

Yesterday, another option was added to the player statistics page - map statistics.

This page shows player statistics for each map (time played, number of wins and losses, number of times player had the best team score, top class and worst class).

Map statistics 1

Another small modification which has been requested and was added today is "per class experience points", which are displayed on the classes page.

As always, your feedback is more then welcome,

Current and the next rank of your class

Good morning Stargate fans (well, for some of us it's morning :P)!

Another two pretty small but useful features features were added to the website today (both of them were requested by other fans)!

This two features display current rank of your class (on the classes stats page) and how far from the next rank you are.

Here is a small screenshot so you can see what I mean (or you could also visit my stats page to see it "live"):

Signature Competition Extended

Due to receiving a small volume of signatures in the time given, Kami has decided to extend the window in which we will be accepting custom signatures for the competition. We are now allowing you until April 4th, 2010 to send in your signatures!

I know some of you already have taken this very positively on the forums ;)

Thank you for sending in your entries and helping to make SGRStats that much better!

Player rankings, sortables and more!

If you are regular visitor of this website you have probably already noticed that about an hour ago, pretty big updated was pushed online.

Version 2.3.0 brings many new and cool stuff.

One of those useful "must-have" things are sortable tables.

Sortable tables are used on the server list, player achievements list and player rankings page (more about player rankings later on).

With sortable tables you can easily (for example) sort your achievements by the date you have completed them or by the achievement title.

Another long awaited feature which is now partialy available are player rankings.

Yes, now you can finally see who is the best SGR player (it appears that the honur currently goes to the Banana Squad member Black)!

Because player rankings are still in very early stage and under heavy development, you can expect many improvements and additions in the following weeks.

If you are having problems viewing the page (stuff is aligned strangely or some images are missing), you need to clear your browser's cache for this website (you can do a "full reload" using the Ctrl + F5 shortcut in Firefox and Ctrl + R in Google Chrome or other flavours of Chromium).

And as always, you can help make this website better by posting your comments, bug reports and ideas on Stargate Worlds forum or this news comments.

Regards, SGRStats.com team (or more recently I could just say Kami, since I'm the only one active in the last two weeks or so - kinda like one man army :P)

Player rankings update

Just a quick note that a new update was pushed online, which makes player rankins a lot more useful and easy to use (also, the "sort by time played" bug which was reported on the Stargate Worlds forum is now fixed).

Player rankings

So don't hesitate and go play with the new goodies (nickname filter, pagination and more) on the player rankins page.

Note: Player position aka "rank" is linked to experience points (EXP) value and it does not change when you apply different sorting options (for example, if players rank is #1, it will stay #1, no matter what sorting option or combination of them you use).

P.S. Link to use page where is described how you can link to our website is now online

Two new signature templates available

Good evening SGRStats.com users,

I have just added two new signature templates to the website from which you can now choose from.

The first one is from the SGRStats.com signature template competition winner Selman:

Selman

and the second one is from Defiant - another user who submitted his entry for SGRStats.com signature template competition:

Defiant

You can view all the available signature templates (with the corresponding HTML and BB codes) by vising the dynamic sigs page - there are now total of five different templates you can choose from.

Hope you like the new templates, Kami out

Server maintenance

Just a quite notice that the website will be unavailable today and tomorrow somewhere between16.04.2010 20:30 and 17.04.2010 20:30 (CEST).

It should be back as soon as the server maintenance work is finished.

In the mean time you can try to improve your rank by killing some fellow Jaffas or soldiers (devs said you get extra points for killing Banana squad members).

The last one is a joke :P

Update (17.01.2010 04:15 CEST): The website is back online (now I can finally go to bed)

Another two new signature templates

Hello,

Just a quick notice that another two signatures templates were added to the available templates!

Both templates were made by Defiant (author or another template which was just recently added).

Template #1:

SGC

Template #2:

SL

(yes, they are a bit large, but don't be scared - heck they are so wide that I even needed to resize them to prevent website layout from breaking :P).

Now we have a total of 6 different signature templates, cool, eh?

I hope now everyone can find a sig which fits his style :)

Regards,
SGRStats.com team

Small player rankings update

Here is another small update.

Because some users asked if it's possible not to display your name on the rankings page, I have added "Show my name on rankings page" checkbox on the settings page.

If you un-check this checkbox (it's checked by default), your name won't shown on the player rankings page anymore, but you will still keep the benefit of all the features which are available to the users with a linked account ("personal" stats, dynamic signature and more in the future).

Note: It can take up to few minutes for your name to disappear from the rankings page after you unchecked the "don't show my name on rankings page" checkbox on the settings page.

New poll - signature template from Alien

Hello dear SGRStats users,

A new poll is now up and this time we are asking you if you think that signature template from AlienSpain should be added to the available templates:

Sig template

The poll ends on Wednesday and if more then 50% of users vote yes, it will be added to the available templates.

P.S. #1 If you have missed it, we already added four new signature templates during this week, so be sure to check them out (news #1, news #2).

P.S. #2 If you have chosen the last option, don't forget to send your template to kami at sgrstats dot com after you are done!

The poll is now over - we have yet another sig template!

Howdy,

As promised, the poll is now over.

Most of you (85%) think that signature template from AlienSpain is good enough and deserves to be added to the available templates, so I have considered your opinion and added it to the SGRStats.com dynamic sig system.

Here is a sneak peak how it looks like "live":

Sig

You can get code for your signature by visiting the dynamic sigs page.

P.S. #1 Since some hints about the new upcoming map have been recently posted on the SGW forums, can somebody guess the map actual name?

P.S. #2: The dynamic values currently do not look so nice so I will experiment with different font face and size probably latter today (suggestions are welcome, but keep in mind that I'm pretty limit here - I can only specifiy the font name, color and size)

Hope you you like it,
Kami

Stargate Resistance Manual

Hello,

Last few days a lot of new players are running around the servers and many of them don't really know what to do.

If you are one of those new players who feels lost, don't worry, because there is an official SGR manual available which explains the game concepts, classes and basics pretty nicely (yes, it's not a boring 200 page long small font text-dense manual and it even contains some pictures! :P).

So, download the manual, check it out and hopefully you will soon realize why your scientist character can't kill or hurt an opponent with a "little blue thingy" :)

There are also some articles about the game available on our and other clan websites, so if you are interested, you can check those as well.

P.S. If you still feel lost or need more help, visit the Stargate Resistance forum.

New map stats is now displayed on the page

OK guys, here is another quick and short update.

Now the player stats page (maps section) displays your stats for both of the game types on the new map Leonops.

I have also fixed the server list issue and added "Game type" column to the table.

I will make other changes which most of you probably won't even notice but are required due to the release of this map in the following days.

Hope you like it,
Kami
